Wishes for Carol

Dear readers of American Bedu, Carol is home but she’s not very well, she has very little appetite. So please send her your prayers and wishes for good health!

Carol is happy in having many friends and two very loyal cats!

It is difficult to moderate the blog and write an article every day. So if a reader has an interesting subject, or wants to write an article about Saudi Arabia, you could send your idea or article to Carol. It has to be appropriate to the blog, and basically the same rules apply as with commenting. I would say this is a great opportunity for those who often complain about there being not enough positive posts about Saudi Arabia!

  3. dear carol,
I pray for you and I hope you will feel better soon.

    take care.

  4. I for one would love to see a post (with pics to illustrate of course) that explain what different gestures mean. The most obvious one I can think of is when the palm faces up all fingers drawn together to touch at the tips and then the entire hand is raised and lowered slightly a few times. That means “wait” or “patience”. But what else is there? My students often use these gestures when trying to communicate with me, but I often don’t even notice that they are using them because I just don’t notice that it’s MEANT to be a gesture to communicate. I would love to learn about them and I think it would be useful for others who deal with Saudis as well.

  5. Sending prayers, good energy, good thoughts and hope your way. Take care of yourself- your own comfort comes before the blog- we’re all here.

  6. You are daily in our thoughts and prayers. Your job is to get your strength back and take care of Carol! We love you!

  7. My prayers are with you Carol… I pray you feel well soon.. Hang in there!

  10. I only discover Carol’s wonderful blog a few months ago, having started working for a Saudi company here in the UK. I’ve consistently been stimulated, entertained and moved by her posts. Above all I’ve gained precious understanding and knowledge about many aspects of Saudi culture. Carol – your humanity, warmth and intelligence shines through every post.

Thank you so much, from a devoted London reader (and fellow cat lover).

    Stay strong.

  11. Carol:

Feel better and don’t worry about the bloggers as you have a great deal of information already available. Rest, take care, and get better. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery. :)

  13. Dearest Carol,
My heart is heavy as I write this. I know how much this blog and your readers mean to you but you need to take care of yourself and gain some strength. The blog can wait but your health means more to us than the blog.

You are an inspiration to most of us if not all and know that you are loved always. I pray for your speedy recovery and good health.

    Take good care.

  15. Salam Carol,

May Allah swt give you speedy recovery, Inshallah. In times of trouble, I have always found reciting Surat Al-Yasin each night before going to bed, quite comforting for the soul. You are in my
    thoughts and prayers always ….

  16. Rest well my friend. Thinking of you and praying for your renewed strength. Love,
    Bev

  21. Carol wishing you ginger tea, lots of rest, and a couple of fuzzy cats!

I sincerely promise never ever again to argue with Bigstick about religion when you start blogging again!

Also thanks for the link Aafke Art. I have been thinking about the question the previous poster asked.

  22. Wishing you speedy recovery, Carol!!!!

  23. Dear Ones,

Each of you, whether I’ve personally met, exchanged comments or simply interact on this blog are dear to me. Thank you for each and every lovely comment and words of encouragement and support. I’m not fully back yet and actually being more of a commentor myself at the moment but stay tuned…once the energy is back, I’ve got a long list of topics in the queu!

I will date myself with this remark but do I feel like such a ‘goober.’ I had been in the hospital a few weeks ago and during that time became a little weaker plus had medication changes. This past weekend those changes came to a head and I blacked out and fell resulting in injuring my pride and ankle. I am still recovering and gaining more strength back each day. Your words have helped me a lot in motivation!

One thing for sure, there is never a lack of topics to discuss about Saudi Arabia. I’m incensed and saddened to learn that an expatriate in Riyadh has chosen to plagarize from my blog and others rather than take the incentive to write original posts. Stay tuned… the Saudi blogging community is very tight and I like to believe honorable. We are all joining to make our views known and insha’allah, bring this unscrupulous blogger to justice. I am purposely not stating any further identifying data because this blogger probably wants all attention.

But back to my initial comment, I think I also want to take this recuperating time as a good opportunity for all of us to have some extensive dialogues on a variety of issues too.

  25. You got that right, Nicole! I challenged the unscrupulous blogger to leave my comment untouched. We shall see….

My dear senior catizens have been glued to my side since I’ve been back home.
