American Bedu Sincere Appreciation and Thanks

It is not often that I am really at a loss for words but it’s getting pretty close.  I really do not have the adequate words to express my sincere thanks and appreciation at all the outpour of support I have received since choosing to share the challenges which my husband and I are now facing.  I know I write every day but I guess it is hard to realize just who or how many really follow the blog or think of me as a person.  Boy have I ever been proven wrong.  The cards and flowers and HATS that I have been receiving from folks all around the world have touched me to the core.  And I want each of you to know that every single gesture has made me not only feel special but that yes, my husband and I are going to make it through the challenges…how could we not with so much support and love and concern from individuals who only know of us through the words of the blog!

I want to thank everyone.   I have received appreciation and encouragement from Muslims, Jews, Christians and simply people who care.  And really..when it comes down to it, isn’t that what life is all about?  Caring?  Sharing?  Appreciating?  Accepting?

THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!

  1. Quoting that beautiful song from the vocals of Louis Armstrong…….”I think to myself…. What a wonderful world”. In our far-away places we feel we know you and Abdullah and now want to lighten your “load” a litle. Give a little back. God Bless

  2. @Juliet – that is one of my favorite songs…the words truly do say it all!

    Thank you!!

  3. Love that verse from I Corinthians. Glad to hear you are getting lots of great stuff! Sounds fantastic!! :D

  6. awwwwww……an Aafke original! I will have to start a separate page showing all the lovely unique hats….it does put a differing and positive spin on being forcibly bald as a woman! Use your baldness to make your own statement about yourself and confidence in life!

I hope my candidness does not offend or seem too much but especially from the Saudi perspective where such issues are not discussed, I want women in Saudi who may be experiencing the same challenges and emotions to know they are not alone and they can get through it!

  7. i have been reading your blog for a long time. i’ve learned a great deal. because saudi shares some quirks in common with other arab countries i have been able to get a better perspective through posts and discussions on matters i don’t fully understand. anyway, my thanks to you for this! i wish you a speedy recovery.

  8. Thank you Africana! And I sure hope I can keep up my blog with substantive posts and ask for forgiveness and leeway from all if at times I might have something very short. Taking it day by day but appreciating and loving life!

  9. I have been reading your blog for a long time. Occasionally leaving comments but have learned tremendously from your writings. I admire your strength in making all these postings in the midst of the challenges you and your husband are facing. I ask Allah to heal you and your huband from this terrible disease and for it to not come back, to keep you two healthy and to bring you both back together in each others arms. You have put some much energy in keeping this blog and may that energy come back to you to give you and your husband all the strenght needed to see you through this hardship.
MashaAllah I am overwhelm by the love that people/strangers have for you… May Allah keeps it that way.. Amin.

  10. Salam Alaikum Saida,
