Banner Art

The bedu-banner symbolizes what America Bedu is about. As an American married to a Saudi,  the two flags, Saudi and American are my logo. I have two cats who have shared my life, travels and troubles. l love camels; there is one hidden somewhere. I spend a lot of time writing on my laptop writing posts for the blog. It truly is a herculanean task to write a post every single day. And hopefully they provide some point of interest, some point of discussion. I hope to also give my readers a glimpse into a very different culture, to give a more diverse glimpse into Saudi Arabia as what most people learn from the media. This is symbolized by the qawa and bakhoor. And an Arabian horse for which Arabia is so famous. The beautiful ruins of maidan s’alah symbolize the history and culture of Saudi Arabia.

The banner is made by blogging-buddy Aafke, who is a professional artist. She has her own Art-blog: if you click on her banner at the right you go straight to her art-blog and can see other artwork by Aafke. You can also see more of her art here as she will provide me with new original banners on a monthly basis.

    loved it so much !

  2. Nice art work. I like the cartoon effect of it and true to the star you are, Aafke has put you on a lovely throne too.
Looks homely too with the qawa and the bakhoor, comfortable is the word I’m looking for.
Like how you make a lot of bloggers feel when they find you.
I hoped you would do a comment section so that I could say this.
    Brilliant job.

  3. Aafke does such wonderful work! Very nice indeed.

  4. It is very symbolic … really nice work to communicate a meaningful message about what this blog is all about …

  5. Aafke personified me so well! When I was surprised with this banner I just sat and cried, I couldn’t help it! And trust me, they were tears of happiness.

It is my pleasure and joy to help promote Aafke’s talent. She is not only an incredible artist but as you can see, it does not take a lot for her to get into the subject’s essence and portray it.

She even got my precious kitties just right and even remembered Tripod with only his three legs! And the Harouf nejdi and camels which I adore and the core of Saudi Arabia with its history and heritage!

And stay tuned…I have a very special interview coming up with Aafke which will give everyone a glimpse into Aafke the gifted artist.

Hey Aafke…I hope you see this comment…that banner is perfect and I’d like to work with you on making that one up so I can get some business cards printed out with my name, blog and email? Whatcha think?
