For many Saudi women and particularly those who choose to wear a niqab (veil where only the eyes are revealed) it simply may be too much of a hassle to go out to eat. They may prefer to have carry out in the relaxing environment of their own home rather than be subjected to the challenges of enjoying a meal while out in public and at the same time trying to remain within the constraints of their customs and culture. The following short video while maybe a little bit over exaggerated does capture the essence of the challenges presented to the traditional Saudi woman when choosing to eat in a public (non-segregated) environment:
