One may not necessarily think of a camel as a pet or think of a young tiny child sharing special moments with a huge camel. But I think this video which captures the essence of comfort and trust between a little Saudi girl and her camel show it all:

What is she doing at the beginning before she climbs up his neck? I remember riding one for the first time and I was scared I was going to fall off… and then here, you have Saudi kids climbing up their necks, hahaha!
As you see when you view the video she actually gets up onto the camel by perching herself on its neck. It is amazing the bond that she and her camel have and how the camel seems to know when she is ready or it is okay to raise up so she can get in a more comfortable position on its back.
Yes and now that Eid is approching you may hear the playful sounds of children playing with their pet Sheep or Goat behind their Villa walls. This is the time that many bring the lambs home before the slaughter.
Camels can be scary!
Wow that is AMAZING! I’ve never seen this before..I think their bond is so cute. And the girl seems to be enjoying herself a lot!
Aw, what a lovely video! what a sweet patient careful camel!
This seems so simple, such a little thing, but to see these few seconds of trust, and a grownup camel acting so careful and caring illustrates for me how God is love, and how that love is all around us, if only we could open our hearts and treat each other like that camel treats that little girl…
Sorry for going all sermonally here, I’m just in that kind of mood.
I had seen once before the bond between a camel and an individual, in this case a wizened old tribal man in Pakistan. And just like in the video here there is understanding and communication flowing between them.
Ummadam, I feel critical of my father whenever I hear the story where he bought a lamb from a bedu family on a trip. The problem was that their girl was attached to the lamb, which is heartbreaking.

this reminds me of when I was living in the states. my next door neighbor had twin boys. they also had a very well tempered samoyed dog. how well was this dog tempered. well when these twins were two we saw them ride the dog several times like riding a horse. the dog didnt protest but after they finished riding her she collapsed and was lying down for a while. my friend (the twins older brother) and I when we saw his little brothers riding the dog about fell over laughing. I think this is a very even tempered camel.
That reminds me of when I was growing up we had a Saint Bernard. My mom used to have it wear like a harness which was hooked to a small wagon and it would pull me when I was very small.
That was hilarious!!! I’ve always heard they can be mean, but I guess not so much!
Fantastic!
Camels are simply incredible creatures!
