Curtis – in regards to bicultural marriages between a western woman and an arab, yes, it is a fact that not all women can adjust to the life and culture of the arab world. In fact, even expats (male and female) coming to the Arab world, may not be able to adjust or suited to work in this region regardless of how appealing the offer.

Found the interview very interesting, as I am a USA citizen and a Tallahassee Resident for over 30 years now. I do love it that the interviewee is so open minded and intelligent in conveying his and fellow KSA citizens culture to help us to better understand each other… Thanks for the insightful interview.

What utter crap. Islam requests? No. The mutawa enforce islamic rules for dress and behavior and are delighted to beat woman and girls. They don’t request. They demand.

Only a complete idiot marries a Saudi man and returns to the kingdom with him. It’s OK to marry one of them if you’re already a Saudi slave girl but if you’re from the West, you really and truly are out of your mind and unbelievably stupid.

Sorry, I’ve had a lot of experience with Western women unable to accommodate themselves to the slave standard in the kingdom and to a lesser extent in the rest of the Arabian Peninsula.

ummbaider- seems to me most families get over their sons trists, they don’t do the same for girls. So it is all about the hymen, unwanted pregnancies are all tied to that hymen. If a man had one and someone could tell a dude wasn’t a virgin by his physical features the family would be just as protective of him. The hymen also equates to a families dignity w/in the community. A community can more readily overlook the wrong doings of a male rather than a female.. she is the downfall of all humanity after all.

well i am not going to close doors and say no for your initiative. if she is interested and i got to know about her, i wouldn’t see why not. even if we did not “click” on that level, having a good intelligent friend is always nice.

but i must say…. I wouldn’t trust my mother taste in women. does the same apply to your daughter? does she trust your taste in men? ha ha
