@MAK,

Welcome! I'm glad that my blog has been helpful to you.

Thank you for sharing some of your favorites. Riyadh is growing and more places are always popping up and it's great to get reviews and recommendations.

Did you ever go to Mezzo's in Islamabad? Although it is no longer there, it was always my favorite. I lived in Islamabad two different periods - 1998 - 2001 and then 2005 - 2006. LOVED it!

Hi Carol aka American Bedu,

I moved to Saudi a month a go from Dubai and just came across your blog. Great blog and has just the information I was looking for. My wife lives and works in Dubai and she is visiting Riyadh for the first time and so I thought what are the best R'rants I can take her too in Riyadh since we both are foodies - voila! found you on google! As a result I am going to try outback today. Some other places i have tried recently and like their food are Viilla, Burj Al Hamam, and a causal diner called Ninos (i think!) on Tahlia - like their beef burgers. Also, tokyo on aruba street has 'decent' sushi. Looking forward to seeing more entries on this blog.
I am from Islamabad, Pakistan but have lived in Virginia (college), DC, San Fran (my favorite city by far), Austin and Houston (my least favorite!), Karachi, Dubai and now Riyadh..the only that have kept me going is good food and art & culture! After food, it will be time to find a few good art galleries - any names?
Take care.

Welcome Abu Joud + Ali,

Thank you for your comment and sharing. I agree that Nej'd Village is a real treat for visitors and expats (and Saudi's). Foreign guests where I worked were always treated to a Nej'd Village evening.

Hi there,

Good to see that expats could really see the good side in Riyadh. I am Saudi, living in Riyadh, and I am originally from Eastern Region.

Several times, I enjoyed sharing the good food experience with westerner colleagues and friends. What they loved the most was the traditional Saudi food. Thus, my recommendation for this post's readers is: Najd Village. This is a high-class traditional restaurant where you can enjoy not only the delicious Saudi food but also the Beduin atmosphere.

The restaurant has two branches so far. The first is in Altakhasusse street close to Samba and it is mainly for singles. It opens for families only in Friday noon. The second one, which I recommend for families, is in Abu Bakr Alseddeq street and you can go for it from King Abdullah road. It is in front of the flowers walker.

It worths a trial :)

Happy eating everyone,
