No-doubt it’s the most holy but not the most deadly by any means, at-least I can’t find it here “Top 10 most deadly cities in the World”

The spirit of all Muslims should never be shaken due to the negative hype created by any sources let be Muslim or non-Muslim. It’s a compulsion for all Muslims to perform Hajj and we all should do it if we have the financial resources.

I have been hearing from family members who live in Makkah that even Makkah is feeling the impact of the global financial crisis. There are not as many pilgrims for hajj and after the wild flurry of activity to build more buildings and establish more furnished apartments for pilgrims, many are setting empty and unrented.

Such control systems is really needed because many Muslims would want to visit Makkah at least once in their lifetimes and we have more than 1 billion Muslims whereas Makkah can contain only so much.

Just like Citibank’s slogan, Makkah never sleeps. At all.

I am visiting with family in Makkah for a week now . It only took 2 days to catch a nasty bug and that is after taking the flu shot before coming. Like Saudi Jawa said, it comes with the territory.

Abid, do I detect a little animosity in your tone? Carol asked the question in her subject line if Makkah is The Most Holiest (sacred would me more appropriate) and also mostdeadly city. I merely answered the question. I never said Saudi was perfect I answered her question.

My husband went to Hajj in 2007, Alhamdulillah; he went with a group and it went off perfectly!

However, he came home very ill. He never gets sick and he was so ill that I was really afraid. It lasted about a month.

I think it’s normal when you have that many people in one place from all over the world that people get sick due to lack of immunity. I worked in a hospital once where people came to us from all over the eastern seaboard USA. Every new employee really suffered during their first year of employment.
