Hi Nichelle
Have not lived in the US, so can’t speak with authority, but my husband is Native American Indian, and I am blonde and blue-eyed, but we have never had anyone give us a second look. We drive a 25 year old pickup that pulls an older 5th wheel, and have been met with warm welcomes and helpful people in any town we passed through. Needing auto assistance from time to time as our faithful old Sierra hauls us along, we have often wondered if we might run into some form of racism. as most Indian reservations in the US are little better than 3rd world communities, and in many states people seem to pretend Indians don’t exist outside of Hollywood movies. The only sign of racism my husband encountered was in the city of Dallas, at a bank in Ross Perot’s neighbourhood where he went to cash a cheque from the art gallery where we were doing an exhibition.
We can all just hope that sanity will prevai and save us form the likes of Sarah Palin!

Welcome to the blog and thank you for your comment. I’m trying to remember where I saw it but some site had a hilarious comparison of Palin and Bush with their expressions and use of words! Hilarious…but also a little bit frightening.

Alaska is large but has a very small population 683,000
Delaware is small but has a large population of 850,000

Palin is NOT a Senator. She been the Governor of Alaska for 2 years. So she only takes care of Alaska State Law

Biden IS a US Senator, for 35 years! He represents Delaware’s position in US Federal Law. He is also her senior in age.

For both reasons he deserves respect. but McCain/Palin are running a dirty campaign attacking Obama/Biden over & over to distract people from the issues. McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time, just a different face on the same thing

I’ve spent time in all the lower 48 US states and I’ve lived in 7 different states. Including those “fly-by” states. While their outward appearance might seem friendly & courteous small town America from East of the Rocky Mountains to West of the Mississippi and in the Southern “bible belt” small towns can be very ignorant, racist places with no tolerance for any other races, cultures or religions. I’m blonde w/green eyes so they generally open right up to me expecting me to be just as narrow minded.
