@UAE-expat–the tie type thing that is dere in the emirati and omani thobes was earlier used for dipping it in perfume oils for fragnance ..now its jus a part of the thobe…

Welcome! I’m not sure and actually have only seen that tie specifically on the UAE thobes!

What is the name of the decorative tie worn at the neck of the thobe? I cannot find reference to it anywhere on the web.

It seems like many of the younger guys in the family will wear an Egyptian style or Morrocan style thobe at home but the older traditional guys will stick with the standard white in the hot months and dark brown or black in the winter months!

I like the thob Maghrebia, the Morrocan thob, for wearing at home. It is really comfortable.
